Evaluation Credentials

some_text

All prospective H-1B hires who submit degrees and transcripts issued from a foreign university or institution must have the degree evaluated for equivalency to a United States accredited degree.  Only course work and degrees granted by an accredited college or university, or an acceptable evaluation of foreign course work and degree will be accepted for H-1B petition purposes.

Guidelines:

Obtaining the credential evaluation is the responsibility of the scholar.  The evaluation organizations charge for their services and any fees associated with the evaluation can be paid by the scholar or the hiring department.

Obtaining the credential evaluation can be done in one of two ways -

Option 1:

The scholar can contact the credential evaluations organizations directly to obtain the evaluation.  Then provide the results of the evaluation to ISC with other documents for the H-1 petitions.

Options 2:

ISC can obtain the credential evaluations on the scholar’s behalf.

ISC cannot recommend one particular service; however evaluations issued by the following organizations have been accepted by USCIS.  Please note if ISC obtain the evaluation on the scholar’s behalf, ISC will use one of the services listed below.

For a complete list of evaluation organizations see the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), a list of academic credential evaluators.
